A review of the season so far.

A few months go by and we find ourselves once more at the business end of another season in the Camden 7 a side league. Perennial high achievers Recreativo de Londres look once more to be running away with the division (reminiscent of Real de Valladolid's glorious run to promotion earlier this year in their homeland) with an impressive 21 points and 7 victories.
Nevertheless, it's not sunset just yet for their closest challengers Avalon who remain in touch with a solid 16 points and a head to head with Recreativo fast approaching... Below Avalon come tricky left-wingers Venezuela whose collectivist approach seems to be keeping them in with a shout on 15 points, and with key clashes against their key rivals still to come. This includes 4th placed artistas Renaissance whose position is deceptive with a game in hand and a meeting with the leaders still to come. Possibly, the team most likely to unseat Recreativo if they hold their nerve having already beaten them once this season!
Next up are stylemeisters Ted Baker who are still an outside bet for a runners up spot if they can turn a few draws into victories and stitch up their porous defence. Below, results threaten to spin out of control for FC Warne and perhaps a few words from the great man himself could be required to get the season back on track!
With three games to go, it's still possible to improve on last seasons points tally, not to mention help determine the direction of the title. Last up come FreemantleMedia, who have hung in there after some early poundings and have recently shown a marked improvement, dishing out a heavy defeat themselves on July 4 in their dismantling of FC Warne...! One more point would beat last seasons tally and could see them overhaul their nearest rivals to avoid finishing in last place...!
So, as ever thoughts start to turn to the new season which begins on 5 September. Whilst this may still seem a world away before you know it the summer will be over (assuming it ever begun...) and September will be upon.
In the meantime, the very best of luck for the remainder of the season!
