The Round Up. Proving doubters wrong since 2006

This clown doesn't
rate Renaissance

R.U.M.P...E...L..S.T.... ah I give up! But not nearly as quickly and easily as it took Renaissance to cough up two goals and wave the white flag against Recreativo last week.

After that nightmare Renaissance are aiming to bounce back faster than an 'INCREASE YOUR P€NI$ SIZE NOW!' spam email in your inbox. And whilst we're on the subject of manhood, Renaissance have a little wee something to prove after last week's drubbing at the hands of Jordi, Delvecchio, Vega, and co.

Renaissance face Ted Baker in a top-of the-table-winner-takes-all-ding-dong-humdinger-of-a-titanic-clash where pride, points, and woos are at stake in the boiling cauldron of scorching suffocation Haverstock Hill. Disclaimer: The Round Up is contractually obliged to hype all Renaissance games regardless of opposition, position on the league table, or potential outcome.

All eyes will be keenly primed on the this match up which pits the league's top scoring team (that's Ted Baker in case you're wondering) against one of the stingiest defences. The last meeting was a breathless affair with a last gasp winner from The "Artiste" Artist settling the affair. Last season's encounters were equally memorable and 23 goals have been scored in the three occassions they've played each other. So hold on to your hats...

What will be the outcome according to The Round Up? Naturally, we're gonna demure on that one but there's a rumour doing the rounds implying that Renaissance will crack at this late stage and don't have the mental fortitude to handle the rigours at the business end of the campaign.

Well, time will tell and the stats certainly speak for themselves. A nine game unbeaten run isn't easily sniffed at (unless you're Claudio Caniggia) but the time is right for Renaissance to rekindle the magic, respond positively to their first defeat, and prove the doubters wrong. It's what champions and champions-elect are made of.
