Will Allstars be left out to dry?
10 January 2007
Renaissance return to action at Haverstock tonight to face Psychology Allstars. Two games into the new season and Renaissance have collected four points from Ted Baker and Venezuela, and tonight begin a run of games from which they will be looking to gain maximum points.
What's that? New season? Yep that's right, little voice in my head. Renaissance has entered a new season of the Chalk Farm-Camden Town Who Can Stop Recreativo League sponsored by Top Corner.
We've been a tad busy in Renaiville over the past couple of months, pampering ourselves at the Renai awards in November, stuffing ourselves at the dinner table over Christmas (Allstars, take note) and haven't had time to keep Rv2 up-to-date.
So here's The Quick and Easy Bullet Point List of What You've Missed
1. Renaissance have hired Kai "Cartman" Stengel to boost their squad
2. Col has put quill to papyrus and signed a one year loan deal with ...Ming-Dao High School in Taiwan
3. Game 1: Renaissance 5-4 Ted Baker
4. Game 2: Renaissance 1-1 Venezuela
5. Match and player stats for the above games
6. Footage from the Renai awards
Six bullet points, five Renai awards, two new teams, and a partridge in a pear tree will all be expanded upon as soon as humanly possible.
Anyhoo, tonight's opponents, Psychology Allstars, have proved to be Anything But and are firmly rooted to the bottom of the league after conceeding 27 goals in just three games. They'll be looking to kick start the New Year with an unlikely victory but if Renaissance get their act together we may well witness a post-Christmas turkey shoot.
Defender The Shaman, and Xawfrus will not be travelling with the squad as they have other commitments.
