Verrocchio rocks Haverstock as Allstars remain grounded

Renaissance 8 - 1 Psychology Allstars
21 February 2007

Colin Presly

Renaissance have dispatched P.A.S with consummate ease tonight in a comprehensive 8-1 victory. Pleasingly, the goals were shared out amongst five Renaissance players, with the high point being a maiden hatrick from Verrocchio.

It was particuarly welcomed that Renaissance found their shooting boots tonight. Dominating against various minnows, but not underlining this with big scorelines has left the team vexed to say the least. Tonight they have shown that they can 'take out the trash', and they will look to do this in the following two favourable fixtures.

The Realist, Cartman and the second half substitute Da Vinci all found the net for Renaissance. The Artist maintained his fine scoring run with a cool brace. The second was particularly impressive as it was a left footed effort. Verrocchio proved that he had what it takes to play in a forward role for the club. He has given Renaissance a new, welcome outlet up top, and was granted the customary match ball for his well earned hatrick.

The only downside for Renaissance was that once again they failed to keep a clean sheet. It is something that they will continue to work on, but really, the goal conceeded should not discount from a thoroughly deserved team victory.

Next up is FC Warne. Renaissance need to maintain this level of play, take their chances, and keep their eyes on the prize.
